“I know all the things that you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive, but you are dead.” These are the words of Jesus to the early church at Sardis. These words are still relevant today.
Others may identify us as good people who do good things and because of our “good” reputation pride may begin to grow in us.
Remember Jesus warns ⚠️ that many will come to Him believing their ticket to Heaven is all the good things they have done in the name of Jesus, but good deeds will not be enough and He will send them away saying “I never knew you”.
To be truly alive, we must KNOW the One who gives us life. Sometimes we become so spiritually numb that we don’t know we don’t truly live. Look at Samson, he was so far from the Truth, that he didn’t know his strength had been taken away from him. He was dead even though he lived.
This New Year resolve to not just do good things in His name but to KNOW the reason you do these things. Resolve to know Jesus and to be alive IN HIM.
