I desire to share the love of Jesus—not just through words, but through my everyday actions. I want to provide those far away from Jesus with glimpses of Him through my life.
Daily, we encounter those who have never known the love of Jesus. For many of them, words are not enough. They shrink away from Christian platitudes like “Have a Blessed Day”, “I will pray for you,” and “Do you personally know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?”
Those words without action are meaningless. They fall on deaf ears, going nowhere.
Let Your Actions Speak
Someone once told me, “We are to tell the whole world about Jesus, using words only if necessary.”
For those who don’t yet know Him, or who have been hurt by religion, actions often speak louder than words. What if, instead of asking someone if they know Jesus, we simply show them His love through our actions?
Reflecting Jesus in Everyday Moments
A smile.
A drink of water on a hot day.
A warm meal when it’s cold.
A listening ear.
A hug.
By serving others, we show them glimpses of the real Jesus. By simply being present, we soften hearts, open conversations, and create space for the message of salvation.
Jesus, the Ultimate Servant
Jesus said:
“If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all” (Mark 9:35).
When Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, he showed his love through action. When we serve others, we mirror that same heart. Acts of service open doors for gospel conversations and reflect Jesus in ways that words sometimes can’t.
A Prayer to Reflect Jesus
My prayer for all of us:
“Lord, I want to reflect your light so that those who do not know You will want to know You. Let the people I encounter today see something different in me, let them see You.”
