Let’s have a little Q&A session today.

Question:

How do I not feel rejected when it feels like they would rather not have me around?

How do I build trust when it feels that they are so guarded?

How do I respond when a person/situation feels unapproachable or unreceptive?

How do I not place my value on their acceptance?

Answer:

By knowing I’m fully loved by God.

By trusting God is the Waymaker and all things are possible.

By understanding that God is at work despite what I see.

By believing God’s truth about who I am to Him.

Did you notice the negative focus the questions have?  Each question was based on feelings, which admittedly are heavy sometimes. But when you read the answers, God is involved in every single one, faith and believing are the keys.

Faith – complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

Believe – accept as true; feel sure of the truth of.

Something to ponder: the definitions of the words don’t change…

Even when our flesh reacts.

Even when our mind doubts.

Even when our heart aches.

Even when it seems impossible.

All too often we feel we are the only ones with questions like those, that no one will understand, or no one wants to hear our worries or problems.

I want to be clear – that is a lie from the enemy. We are so fortunate to be able to ask questions of one another and share our answers. Ultimately this is how we show our faith and what we believe.

I share this from a place of being vulnerable. I’ve asked those questions and at times allowed my own feelings to become stronger than my faith. I’ve listened to whispered lies from the enemy. I’ve cared too much what someone thought of me.

If you’ve had similar questions or feelings, here’s a declaration, an answer of sorts, to write and speak out, and even more important start to believe.

He who has promised is faithful!

My feelings are allowed, but they are not always fact. I want to fight the destructive lies from the enemy. I want to believe like Abraham without pause, and fully trust my Lord and Savior. I know God speaks only truth. If my belief waivers, Lord help me in my unbelief. My faith is stronger than my feelings even when I may not get all the answers because I know my God is just, faithful, and present, always.

Here’s scriptural truth to help us find answers to our questions and to put our faith over feelings.

“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

Hebrews 10:23

“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.”

Psalm 86:15

With those beautiful truths in mind, let’s have one more Q&A.

Question:

What is faith?

Answer:

It is when I act like God is telling me the truth no matter my feelings.

I love the Lord and hope at the end of the race, I hear, “Well done, daughter”.
